Welcome to the home page of the Mercedes-Benz Discussion List. We gather in our electronic country store, sit around the stove and talk about Mercedes-Benz automobiles. We enjoy the company of folks from around the world and the level of knowledge on the list ranges from beginning DIY through MB professionals who have been repairing the cars for many years along with those who write about the cars and service or sell many products for the cars. Both the former editor/publisher and the former technical editor of the STAR magazine (Mercedes-Benz Club of America) are members.
This email list was founded by Richard Easley and Stu Ritter in January 1998.
The list has several different aspects. The email server is the list pivot point. Daily emails (digest form available) are the conversation format. Through this stream of emails, list members discuss Mercedes-Benz automobiles in great depth, although the discussion is not by any means restricted only to the cars. List members have also gathered in many parts of the USA for "listfest" meetings where they have a chance to match faces to familiar names.
The list maintains a searchable archive which contains an incredible wealth of technical information. The archive contains nearly every post made to the list from the date of inception in January 1998. We are also looking into adding new capabilities such as an FAQ (frequently asked questions) document and a gallery that will allow list members to upload pictures, diagrams, and other graphics to be shared with other listers. So stay tuned!
Ensuring the privacy of our members is a promise made -- and kept -- since the list first began back in 1998. To begin, this is a closed list. Access to the list articles, the archives, and other resources is by subscription only. We never make the membership list available to anyone. And you won't find your posts displayed to the world through a Google search, because our content can't be accessed by any search engine.
Another guiding principle from the inception has been one of maintaining a "family-friendly" ambiance. General moderation policies are outlined in Mercedes Discussion List Rules To subscribe, please read the rules, and then complete the subscription application form.
